Every day at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, we are privileged to work with people who share a vision for improving our world and our neighborhoods. By helping youth prosper, keeping the arts alive, housing the homeless, preserving open space, or supporting some other important cause, our donors and nonprofit partners provide inspiring examples... 

Working Together
In early 2009, the Foundation, along with the Nonprofit Resource Center, conducted a survey of nonprofits to determine the impact of the economic downturn. The results were not surprising —almost all of the responding nonprofits expected 2009 to be a difficult year—and it was. 

Now is the Time
2008 was a challenging year for philanthropy. The rapidly declining economy had a not unexpected effect on giving as donors and would-be donors waited to see if there was a bottom to what appeared to be a fiscal free fall. 

Creating A Sense Of Place - After 8 Years, Foundation CEO Says Farewell

When I stepped into the CEO position at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation eight years ago, I was intrigued by the Foundation's relative anonymity in its hometown. It certainly had an impressive Board of Directors, and was clearly doing good work, so why wasn't it better known? Getting the Foundation to a stronger, more visible position was an exciting challenge.

What's New at the Foundation?
To begin with, we are now happily settled in our new office by the river. Even though we moved a short distance, our new home offers a more community-oriented setting, with ample meeting space for our board and community partners...
